a community of faith and love

St. Benedict the Abbot Parish is headed by one of the Holy Ghost Fathers (Spiritans). It is one of the ministries of the USA Province of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Ghost Fathers, Brothers and Associates bring a commitment of social justice to their congregations, and are dedicated to the evangelization of the most abundant. We are a multi-ethnic community that fosters faith, hope and love. We stand ready to welcome with love and friendship all who come to us. We are committed in strengthening them through programs of social, educational and spiritual values. We encourage our families to be active participants in the life of the Church; to enjoy the celebration of the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist. Our families are animated in worshiping together and praying frequently in their homes. Our church edifice is easily misidentified as a school, but it provides us with a nice worship environment. The church has painted portraits of the Passion of Christ that bring to life Christ's experience in the face of human injustice and cruelty. They are very helpful visual aids during the Stations of the Cross. Located within the main building of the church is the Mary Chapel. Here you are provided with the best atmosphere for prayer and meditation in the presence of the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar. We hope that after you visit our website, you come visit our church and experience our parish community. |
