Ten Days To Freedom

Ten Days to Freedom is the story about a group of teenage freedom fighters of Redor’s Fil-American Irregular Troops whose area of operations during the Japanese Occupation of the Philippines was Laguna, Tayabas, (now Quezon), and a part of Batangas Province.
On February 5, 1945, Dr. Mamerto Azarias, MD of the Polillo Unit of Redor’s Guerillas was asked to station his forces outside the town proper and be ready to render aid and protection to the inhabitants who were being unduly harassed and threatened by the Japanese. The Japanese believed that the civilians were cooperating and supporting the guerillas.
Many of the young soldiers have gone to their rest, their heroism and valor died with them. Those who are still living have likely been forgotten but their stories still live on. Their bravery and sacrifices to protect and uphold their country’s freedom should not be forgotten.

Diez Días A Libertad es la historia de un grupo de jóvenes luchadores por libertad de las Tropas Irregulares Filo–Americanas de Redor en que el área de operaciones durante la ocupación Japonesa de las Filipinas era Laguna, Tallabas (ahora Quezón), y una parte de la provincia de Batangas.
El 5 de febrero de 1945, Dr. Mamerto Azarías, medico de la unidad Polillo de las Guerrillas de Redor fue ordenado a estacionar sus fuerzas a las afueras del pueblo para estar listo a rendir ayuda y protección a los habitantes quienes se veían constantemente acosados y amenazados por los Japoneses. Los Japoneses pensaban que la gente del pueblo estaba cooperando con y apoyando a las guerrillas.
Muchos de esos jóvenes soldados ya descansan en paz, su heroísmo y valor han muerto con ellos. Los que todavía viven probablemente han sido olvidados pero sus historias viven aun. Su bravura y sus sacrificios para proteger y defender la libertad de su país no debe ser olvidada.
