St. Benedict Catholic Church, along with Father Benoit, and the KPC Ladies Auxiliary, the Spanish Youth Group hosted a workshop for Middle School and High School students.

Topics for the workshop were: Decision Making, Peer Pressure, Self-esteem/Self-motivation, Interview Skills, Dress the Role, Work Ethic, Eating Right, Exercising, Taking Care of Your Body, etc.

The workshop was held at TEXAS SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY in the FAIRCHILD BLDG.

The keynote speaker was Kyev P. Tatum from Ft. Worth, TX. His presentation was based on the need to “get up, get out and go get it.”

It is important that our students are well equipped as they pursue their education. We have to help our young students to be the S P A R K. We need to let them know that the sky is the limit. We want our students to look at ways to develop their visions, their creative power, and their self-image. We are looking forward to continuing the relationship and fostering more relationships with our youth in the community.
